Connecting balconies?

Is it possible on the Breakaway to open the balcony divider between cabins if your family is in the room next door?

No. Just like on every other NCL ship, it's against NCL policy.

Were these side balconies or aft ones?

Did the room host say anything about your abilities?

Did anyone say anything about the balcony divides being open or not while underway?

Could you leave the dividers open while not underway?

Yes we did. Every now and then the room steward would close the divider but it was easy to open and stayed open even when at sea. We were traveling with kids and was counting on having the balconies opened. :)

When you see how they are connected , you will be able to open them with a key or any small object(we used a pen) We did get a note from housekeeping telling us it was not allowed, so make sure you shut it when you leave and they'll never ow. The balconies on this ship are so small, that when the dividers are open you can actually move a bit! Have a great time!!

We sailed on the Pearl end of January with connecting rooms with our friends. The balcony divider was unlocked upon request for the week. No problem.

Just wondering, if the rooms are next to each other but are NOT connecting can we still open the divider?

I can't answer that. Been on four cruises(Carnival,RCI,NCL) and never noticed. From reading other posts it seems variable, not only ship to ship but even sections of same ship. It would be helpful if this info was available when booking a cabin

We had ours open in our non-connecting aft balcony staterooms on the Dawn, but that was in 2009.

I asked if we would be able to open up the balconies when I booked this cruise. The customer service rep asked a supervisor and they said it was okay but would like you to close them when you are not out on the balcony, seemed reasonable to me.
