Did you participate in the 2013 Ultimate Slot Grand Final event?

Hi All :) I posted this in the Carnival Forum but did not get any replies. I didn't post here because in the past didn't often see much activity here but seeing a little more conversation so thought I would ask if anyone here attended Carnival's Grand Final Slot Tournament last year? The casino manager told me last year was the first year they have done this and it was a huge success. I won the slot tournament on a recent cruise which gave me an entry to this Grand Tournament. It is on the Breeze in November. I am wondering what kind of pricing the casino gives for the cruise? If I get the opportunity to go, I will have to fly into Miami or Ft. Laud. That adds quite a bit to the cost of the cruise for me as I most recently have chosen to drive and leave out of Galveston or NOLA. Also, I would appreciate your opinion of the Grand Tournament - your experience, etc....I am one that loves to cruise and I have never been on a bad one but I am interested to know how the tournament was run, any info about the tournament itself. Thank you in advance for any info or advice. j

I can't comment on Carnival's slot tournaments, but what you said above that I bolded caught my eye. On Royal Caribbean, if you win the slot tournament, you get to go on the cruise hosting the Royal Slot Tournament for free.

That would have been a nice bonus! As it stands, my $500 winnings will go towards purchase of the cruise. I can't seem to find anyone who went to the first Final (last year). Maybe I will be the only one there and garner myself a win :D

I won one of these entries too for this November. I called to check the fare and it wasn't a very good deal IMO. I booked a Carnival cruise for this November, but not the tournament cruise. It seemed to me that they were jacking up the price of the tournament cruise to compensate for the cost of the tournament so I passed on it.

I did last year - but we booked the cruise, not knowing it was the finale for slots and blackjack. I purchased entries for both from people who had won and weren't able to cruise.

The casino was crraazzy on that trip!

Many, many people received comp cruise letters the 5th/6th day of the cruise. Had to book within 30 days I think.
