We just got off free cruise June/July and was told the same but I had a free drink card, I think because I had over 5,000 points prior cruise, my husband and I both just checked for the heck of it and he got 50.00 and I play a hell of a lot more then he does..but maybe because I got drink card..which I was satisfied with...however we did each get a free bottle of wine, a tray of cookies to our room and another free cruise!! But now I wanna upgrade to a balcony and it's gonna be 560.00 extra plus taxes total of 720.00. He also has a free room... Now what lol. We have to sail before September we are gonna go broke and they will not upgrade on just one person a room it's a double occupancy... What to do?? Need to decide by next week. I wish I had lots of $$$ to take both and upgrade

I agree about the going broke problem. I almost tossed the latest free cruise offer away. I figured there is no way my wife will want to cruise again, so soon. Then she tells me take advantage of it when you can because you never no how long we will keep getting these offers. Having said that we sail the Liberty next month in a Grand Suite upgrade.

Without the "free" inside there is no way I would be taking three cruises in five months and a Grand Suite would have been totally out of the question. Thank You Carnival!!!

She sounds like me lol. If ya don't mind me asking, how much was the grand suite upgrade... We have to pay 520.00 more for our balcony on the 7 day cruise on the dream, but we haven't ever had a balcony and I'm getting the aft extended and because of my promotion it allows me to have any floor and almost any balcony so I figure if I were to pay that on a regular booking it would cost over 2,500.00 .... So I'm gonna suck it up one last time for a year haha before cruising again... As crazy as this sounds I hope the casino doesn't offer another freebie lol

To go to the grand suite from the inside was $700.00 total before taxes and insurance. Keep in mind this is only a five night cruise.

If we upgraded to a balcony on the same deck it would have been $400.00 before taxes and insurance.

If you do the math you pretty much got the same price as us on the upgrades.
