My wife has been wanting some snow. But, be careful what you wish for when you are saying: "Looking forward to snow." This is our first snow of the season. See below. Like?

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Enjoyed a 14-day, Jan. 20-Feb. 3, 2014, Sydney to Auckland adventure, getting a big sampling for the wonders of "down under” before and after this cruise. Go to:

for more info and many pictures of these amazing sights in this great part of the world. Now at 131,951 views for this posting.

In the last few minutes, here are some snow views in Central Ohio from my study and family room windows. Like? Not a big or deep snow!! BUT, it makes for a nice "look" and less boring than a bland, rainy, cloudy day. This is a good day to have lots of trees and varied terrain around us and living in a scenic ravine area in the middle of our urban city.:

Our weekend was pretty darned good. We took a minor road trip with friends and enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner in semi-far places. The picture represents lunch. Judge not lest ye be judged. ;)

Not sure what these flowers are but they remind me of pineapples ...

boeckli,

It's a Kahili Ginger. Native to the Himalayas/ India. See lots of them in Hawaii. Model for a Feathered Standard used by Royalty in Hawaii. Nice photo.

Thank you for that info - I just read that it is a declared pest in the Australian state of Queensland and regarded as a serious weed in some other places :(

Shows you that being pretty does not necessarily make you popular!
