Age group breakdown on Carnival for 12 yrs

Anyone who has sailed with a 12 year-old?

 

One of Carnival's web sites says the age breakdown is 12-15 years old, but reviews of the ships say the age group is 10-12 and 13-15. I'm considering the Liberty (as opposed to a Princess ship) based primarily on the age breakdown! Kim
