Feedback on the Sun

Is VP video poker? I believe they did have some. Lots of slots and table games. Don't remember the casino being "overly" smokey.

It can get smoky at night so I played in the daytime and it was fine.

Doesn't anyone stay in a plain old oceanview room? I'm on the Biscayne level in August with a porthole oceanview. Am I going to regret it?

I stay in a plan old inside, mind you one of the bigger insides the Sun is known for. I don't regret it.

Why should you regret the oceanview. Get what you are comfortable with and go with no worries.:D

We also stay in those large insides that "feel" like a suite they are so big, especially the sideways ones. The oceanviews are also bigger than on some other ships. Our friends had one on last cruise and commented about all the space and the separate seating area. Not sure if they are all like that, but I think you will be fine in an oceanview. The Sun is a wonderful ship with so many nice public spaces that you will likely will not spend much time in your cabin anyway.

We had a comped Inside, but we upgraded to Oceanview window (not balcony on Sun).

I've never stayed in an Inside, for fear of getting seasickness.

Always upgraded to Oceanview or Balcony, on NCL.

I'm guessing those of you Inside-advocates, don't have an issue?

We booked a South America cruise...this will be our third one To SA and love it. The promos were so good, and was able to get suite 8003. We have cruised many times, and have had different experiences. Cost I will say did not mean a great trip.

This ship has mixed reviews, and although we are set to go, even have our airline tickets..would love some feedback.

We were on the Sun in April for the Tampa to Vancouver thru the Panama canal cruise. We had cabin 8003 and it was a nightmare. Leaks, sewer smells and filth. The suite had not been cleaned when we arrived. Food on the carpet, filthy bathroom with mold and other peoples things still in the shower. We had rough seas a couple days and the balcony door whistled and screamed for 2 days. No gasket around either door!! We had to have them come and put something down the leaky drain to stop the smell. It was so bad you could smell it from the hall. They finally started using bleach to clean all the mold and that helped. My husband was sick from it all. Worse cruise ever.

I think I saw you posted this somewhere else. I was under the impression this issue was resolved.

Just did a 10 day Alaskan cruise in suite 8203. I believe this is the twin to 8003 on sb side. Two issues, the steel beam at the foot of the bed is a pain to work around. Also the mattress was terrible. While we didn't have any sewer issues my son and dl were in 8202 and had water leaking in the bathroom off and on the entire cruise.

That's not good. The beam at the end of the bed wouldn't bother me...I may talk to my TA about a different suite. The best beds are on Oceania.... However I want to go back to SA?.

We had been on the Sun in 2013 for a Miami Panama Canal LA cruise and fell in love with the Sun. We were in a penthouse 8201. Based on that experience we wanted to sail the Sun again. We had originally booked 8003 for a San Diego to Santiago cruise this fall. Time and family wanting to go to Alaska made us change to the recent 10 day Vancouver to Vancouver. Like most things the second time around was not as special. I would be concerned about the plumbing. My wife reminded me the cabin just aft of ours was open several days with fans blowing and carpet pulled up.
