Default Guarantee Balcony Cabin

I just booked a cruise on the Pride for Nov and this was my first time using a travel agent. She booked in something called a Guaranteed Balcony. Does this mean that I'm more than likely going to an obstruction view? I always like knowing what room I'm in so this has made me a little nervous. Has anybody else done guaranteed balcony? And if so how was your experience?

You have a vin number. opps a room number? no tehn that may just answer your question? I say, it is your cruise, your money , and the travel agent is interested in $$$. and would like a return customer. I make sure I get what I want before I hand over $$$

You are booked at the lowest balcony rate. You might get a higher class of balcony and you might get the lowest one. Guarantee rates are a gamble, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose (though the worst would be an obstructed balcony) and the best is a category upgrade.

People will tell you lots of stories both ways. I would not do a guarantee again after getting a room under a disco on Carnival. Even with earplugs we could here the thump, thump, thump vibration most of the night.

Just wondering why you let the travel agent persuade you to do this? How much are you saving? Is it worth the risk to you?

Either you've posted on the wrong board, or Celebrity has added a new ship.

Yeahhhh that was a mistake All I asked for was a balcony from the Travel Agent I didnt think that it was a money grab at her end at all. I have no problem with an obstucted view but I would have a problem with being put under a club. I will try calling Carnival closer to the sailing date and seeing if I can come up with something. The last time I called they were really helpful. Thanks
