Hilton MoorQuestion

Hi again!

Well that didn't go as expected!

My question was....

I'm booked on the July 2017 10 night PG cruise with flights from AF so we are planning three nights pre-cruise at the Hilton Moorea.

Which Hilton Honors Credit Card will serve us the best? There's one with free nights for categories 1-5 but the Hilton Moorea appears to be a category 9. Does Gold status get free breakfast and upgrades if available?

Thanks so much as always! And sorry for my silly opening post!

If you're on the July 26 PG we are with you. Although it is 11 months out getting point redemption rooms at the Hilton may not be available for long.

We have the HHonors Reserve card as it gives gold status as well as 2 free weekend nights. We are staying 4 nights pre cruise so we can use these as they have to be Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If your cruise leaves on the Wednesday and you stay for 3 nights only one would be a weekend. Gold status gets breakfast for 2 each day.

There are other Hilton cards but you would need 80000 points I believe for 1 night. Some may give that as an opening bonus after a pens but it may be tough to get enough points for 2 nights.

Also Citi just changed the rules and you can only get a bonus for any one of the same family of cards in 24 months. It used to be that you could open more than one Citi card and get the bonus on each. Now it is only for one.

Thanks so much for the information. I looked up the card and I don't see the free breakfast listed as a perk. Perhaps they have done away with it? In any case, it seems a good bet to try and get a free room.

Sadly, we are cruising the 5th of July so will be disembarking while your journey is just beginning! I would have liked to thank you in person for all the help you've offered thus far! :)

We have gold status with HH and were treated well. We arrived on the first ferry of the day so we got to the hotel about 9AM. Once the check-in clerk pulled our file, he escorted us to a desk where we met the concierge who completed our check in, offered us fresh squeezed pineapple juice, presented us each a flower lei, and escorted us to the dining room for a comp breakfast since our room wasn't ready. As we were finishing, she came back to give us our key cards, escorted us to the lobby where we were taken to our OWB (with our luggage) on a golf cart. On subsequent days, the cold breakfast bar was comp with a 10USD upcharge for the hot items. Don't miss the fresh fruit juices and yummy preserves. If you are into snorkeling, fins, snorkel and masks are provided complimentary for your stay at the Hilton and subsequently on PG. We were "fortunate" that weather required us to stay in Bora Bora a third day instead of a second day in Moorea which we had explored while staying at the Hilton.
