reedprincess Posted October 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2016 HI - Going to be in St Lucia in December on Grandeur. Looking at day passes at these resorts. We would appreciate any feedback to help us make our choice. Thanks,, Sue What's the day pass going to cost you? What does it include? And does it include transportation? (I ask as they haven't offered day passes in the past, and info isn't available on their website). St Lucian and Royal are two resorts by Rex properties, next door to each other in Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay. Neither is a great property, both quite old properties, although they are refreshed periodically. Royal is the nicest of the three in the chain (Papillon is the other, at the end of the three). Royal is considered the nicest of the three, and definitely has the best pool of the three. Activities are limited really - not very active, energetic properties. At best,, the Royal is a 3.5 star property, with St Lucian being maybe a 3 and Papillon a 2.5. They are fairly basic properties. They are located 30 minutes from port, and a taxi costs $30us one way. If you just want to hang by a pool and enjoy drinks and food - you could stay on the ship and save the money! The beach is the main draw of that area, and the beach is free... Watersports for hire, beach bars and restaurants, chairs and umbrellas available, etc. If a day pass at a resort is a must, consider Rendezvous is you're two adults, right near the port (walking distance), beautiful grounds, several pools, excellent food and service, beautiful beach. It's adult only though.. Good luck and enjoy your visit..

reedprincess Posted October 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2016 Thanks for the quick response. Found day passes on caribbean for a day. $40 pp for royal and $90 at St Lucian. I will email Rendezvous and ask about a day pass. We are interested in a resort with lounger and umbrella on the beach. Sue You can get two chairs and umbrellas at Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay for $20. Same beach Royal and St Lucian are located on.... Enjoy lunch at Spinnakers or Hi Tide, cocktails at either, beers and water and soda from vendors along the beach, etc.. PS: checked the site and it lists Royal for $90, and doesn't look like it includes transportation, which will add $60us to the cost. ($30us each way). Rendezvous is approx $65us pp, fully all inclusive, walking distance from the port. Romanticholiday.com for info...

dobelover Posted January 4, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Reed Princess - Loved Rendezvous! Taxi was $30 round trip with tip. Took about 10 minutes to get there. What a hidden gem. Wide flat beach that was well maintained, loungers and palapa type shade. Didn't go into ocean, windy and rough that day but it looked wonderful. Two pools, one with a swim up bar, infinity hot tub and a really interesting lazy river. Not water park river, more like linked grottoes. Great open air buffet lunch and friendly staff. Can't wait to go back in October 2017. Thank you, Sue
