Mdr questions

Hello,

We were on the Harmony in May and the past three years, we only dine at the specialty restaurants, but this next cruise on the Oasis, we are thinking of experiencing the MDR...we would like your thoughts to the MDR about the food, service, etc. If we go to the MDR, we will have anytime dining, probably be going for dinner around 8pm, would we find much of a line there? Are platinum members given any priority to seating? Are we able to always have a table for two or would we have to sit with others....(our past experiences have been sitting with parents with children that were misbehaved, arrogant people and those who did not speak English or were not sociable at all).

We normally make our individual reservations so that we are locked into the dining time we want, but this time we chose the dining package for $168...so we will have to board the ship and quickly make our reservations....we give this a try and if it doesn't work out to our liking, we will know next time to just pay for individual dining.

Are there any items in the MDR are not to be missed? Have you had any issues in getting another alcoholic drink or is it like Carnival you be lucky somebody come around and ask you?

We would like your thoughts positive/negative, thank you.

We love the MDR. Last summer on Allure we ate around 8 or 8:30 every night and usually only waited 5 minutes or less. They have lots of tables for 2 available. Overall service is good, but it does seem to take a bit longer for alcholic drinks.

We usually grab a glass of wine or a drink at a bar to take in with us to the table. This holds us over until we can get a refill ordered at the table. We have had the whole gamut of service for drinks in the mdr. Everything from our wine glasses refilled before are barely finished with the glass to having the drinks we ordered with the appetizers arrive with the dessert. Usually though, it is somewhere in between.
