Default Bed config?

Hi all!

Maybe I missed something but I don't recall any stage of the booking process asking me how we wanted the bed configured and I can't seem to see the configuration listed anyway under my reservation!? I would like a queen bed configuration, but it's for two male passengers so I'm insure if they'll do this off their own accord (probably not lol) so do I just email them?

Cheers
Steve

Yes you can contact the people you booked your cruise through. They can make the request as to how you want your bed.

Our confirmation copy that our TA gets from HAL always shows how we want the bed.

I booked through HAL that's why I find it strange that I don't recall being asked during the process

I don't believe the question is in the booking process. I think I found it under the preferences (somewhere under booked guests online). I agree it's difficult to find.

In HAL's site, the question of 'Bed Arrangment Preferences' is listed under 'Stateroom Preferences'--this is listed on the bottom of the tab page 2. Stateroom. This is the page where the various stateroom numbers are listed for you to select from.

You can call HAL directly and make your request or you can simply wait until you board and let your cabin stewards know your preference and they will take care of it. It is no big deal. As a rule, most beds are made up as a queen on sailing day, regardless of what your request is.

They can very easily change it once on board and it is no problem though I do think you trying to let them know in advance is better.

Many times I've got on board ships (on different lines) to find that a prior request hasn't been actioned. The stewards have always been able to sort this out before bedtime on the first evening. So it's definitely not an issue to worry about.

DITTO, don't know why they bother asking.

Same here. I think the stewards are so busy that they just leave the beds the way they were for the previous occupants and if that's not to your liking, you have to ask them to change them. When this has happened to us, they're always redone by the time we retire for the evening.

I spoke with a rep at HAL to make my booking, and they did ask how I wanted to have the bed in the room made up.

Also, one time I was sharing with someone, and the bed had been left as a queen bed. I spoke with the steward, and it was quickly changed to two beds. I have also asked the steward on a different cruise to change the configuration from two beds to one, and that also was done with no problems.

It would be easier, though, as mentioned above, to contact your agent, whether at HAL or elsewhere, and have them sort out the bed configuration beforehand. It's always nice to get to the room, and have everything the way you want it.

Never had anyone ask how we wanted our beds configured. Not one TA has ever ask, and we have had probably 3 or 4 different TA's over the years.

I just figured if I wanted it different I would just ask the cabin steward.
