Haven't cruised in a few years

Anything new I need to know or be aware of? Anything significantly change over the past 3 years?

Which line did you sail, and are you sailing?

There have been some changes on some lines in the last several years....drink packages, charges for room service on some lines......

It is hard to remember when things happened.

Most lines are limiting liquids you can bring on board. Most allow 1 bottle of wine per adult. Most do not allow any other alcohol. Some limit non-alcohol too.

Most offer all you can drink for sodas and for alcohol.

We've been on NCL; princess; carnival and HA - this time we are looking at Carnival Splendor

A lot has changed on all the cruise lines.

Well, the most recent biggie on Carnival is the "no bottles" restriction. You can only bring cans or cartons.

American Table menus are fairly "recent" (since 2014).

Lots of changes with alcohol and smoking regulations.

I am going back this fall after several years as well. I am wondering if I will see substantial declines in service.

A lot has changed. Some for the better and some not for the better. Yes, you might ask this on the Carnival Board.

Probably the buggy on Carnival is the no taking bottles of anything on.

There are significant changes on almost all the cruise lines.

Lots of cost cutting, crew staffing numbers down, more alternative restaurants, more rigid bans on smoking (happily :)), more cruise line created stops (Costa Maya, Grand Turk, Amber Cove etc).......
