How do I go about purchasing the Allegrisimo Drinks Package for MSC Splendida cruise out of Barcelona 8th July. Can't seem to find this on the MSC Website but looks to be the best package for my wife and I for the 7 nights cruising

Thanks

Hi Tyroneman,

Yes they have kept quiet about this package. You will need to get your TA to book it for you and get MSC to email what this includes in writing as it is a very good deal. Also, there is a cheaper/non alcoholic price for kids.

We are sailing on the Splendida on the 19th August and have bought the Allegrissimo package, does this cover all bars etc?

Please refer to the comprehensive thread on the Allegrissimo package (http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1667903) and to the official info from MSC (http://www.msccruises.co.uk/uk_en/Images/ALLEGRISSIMO%20DRINKS%20PACKAGE_tcm13-48857.pdf).

Hi everyone. Departing with 3 others from Genoa 8 Sept on the Splendida.

We have pre-booked the Allegrissimo package to be paid on boarding the ship. MSC did not seem keen on me paying up front before we departed for our cruise and told me to pre-book it only.

Based on the differant comments in this thread my question is simple - Will I have to pay the 15% service charge in addition to our pre- booked package if I pay for the package on arrival at the ship -or is it definately included? Come on folks surely someone has returned from a recent cruise and has the answer

- or -

Is the 15% service charge only included if you pay for the package in full via MSC before you depart?

I have contacted MSC and am awaiting a reply from them but I'd rather obtain the real accurate info from fellow cruisers.

Thank you. Chris V

Hi Chris,

We are on the Splendida the week before you and I had the same query. I e-mailed MSC today. The reply was that provided the package was pre-booked (not necessarily paid for) and not bought when on the ship, the 15% would not be added. Hope this helps!

Have a great cruise! Alison.

Hi I have booked and paid for the allegrisimo for my October cruise and was under the impression that if I had waited until on board I would be charged the 15% Read just today that someone on this forum had been charged the 15% but said it was still worth buying.

Here is a link to the allegrissimo package on the UK MSC web site which gives full details of what is and is not included.

It can be bought on line but they will add the 15% service charge , book through your travel agent and you don't pay the 15%

We are cruising on Splendida on 31st December for 7 nights - what are the advantages of the Allegrissimo plus v's the standard package? Is it worth the £38 per day? We are quite big drinkers and it is new year!

Basically it gives you a free mini bar and some premium brand drinks, don't think it is worth an extra £18 per day

Here is a really good pdf of the allegrissimo package as an attachment I hope!!!!

Here is a link to a slide show of the curent bar list and anything marked with a RED * is EXCLUDED from the £20 per day package

I think I've put up every bit of info available about the current basic package and some about the premium package

Hope this answers everybodies' questions

To my understanding 15% service charge is added if you buy the package on board - not when you book it before cruise either online or from travel agent.

We have booked premium package for our cruise due to better wine selection. Do you have happen to have pictures of the dining room wine lists?

No Problem

If you book and pay for it, via a TA, before you sail there is NO 15% added

If you prebook but don't pay up front, or buy it on line, then the 15% iS added

Very interesting since MSC Cruises has given here totally different information:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1735779

Maybe I just in case print that thread with me on board. :)

It may be that they have different marketing stratagies in the US and Europe.

They cetainly have different marketing stratagies with regard to water with meals. In the US bottled water is free with Dinner, in Europe there is a charge. The same goes for after dinner coffee.

Might be or they have changed their policy since currently also UK site says also:

HOW TO BOOK THE ALLEGRISSIMO DRINKS PACKAGE:

1) Calling our Admin dept. (up to 21 days prior departure date) on 0844 561 1955 opt.2. Price already includes the 15% service charge.

2) Reserve online (up to 4 days prior departure date). Price already includes the 15% service charge.

3) Buy onboard. 15% service charge will be added in addition to the "Allegrissimo" drinks package.

That's in complete agrement with what I said in post #19

If you prebook but don't pay up front, or buy it on line, then the 15% iS added

The only way to avoid the 15%, in Europe, is to go via a TA and pay up front before you sail.

This is exactly what I have done for my next cruise with them
