snorkel gear question #2

OK...

When we went to Discovery Cove at Sea World, snorkel equipment came with your package. The mask was used, and you had to return it, BUT the snorkel itself was new (still in package)and you got to keep it.

The thoughts of using a used snorkel really nauseate me, so does anyone know if I book an excursion through Carnival that includes rental of snorkel gear...is the snorkel new, and do I get to keep it? Did someone say there are snorkels available for purchase on the ship? Or should I just buy one before hand to bring with me?

I can't answer that question Sue. I do remember the cruise director talking about it during one of his port shore excursion talks but I didn't talk to anyone that had purchased it. We had brought our own along with us.

Last year on Carnival I rented the snorkel gear it was well maintained (the mask & fins) and the snorkel was a straight tube new in plastic. The fins were barefoot with solid blades. Not bad for the cost of I think $24? for the week. We have our own equipment for this trip, but renting was pretty decent.
