Default Pictures RSSC Navigator Stateroom 601

Hi,
who has pictures from the "magic" stateroom 601 on RSSC Navigator?
Or does somebody know where to find them?

There is one in the archives of CC. Try a search. Unfortunately, this suite was upgraded to a penthouse level -- no longer as good of a deal except it is large. We would never again stay in a suite that far forward on the Navigator. Also, the noise from the anchor in the wee hours of the morning is annoying (we were not in 601 but were in 1001 and could hear it quite clearly)

We cruised in 603 and explored 601 when they were the same category at a past time. I would not hesitate to take that cabin in a heartbeat. Even 603 was lovely - it was about 18 inches wider where 601 was square. There was a support beam in a funny place in that cabin.

The anchor was really only a problem when it was dropped and we were tendering. We were in 603 on a New York to Montreal cruise.

Default Rumor to meet a legend

I have come into possession of a few photos of legendary Navigator cabin 601. In this one you can see the famous pole, which I understand guests have taken turns decorating over the years, as well as get a glimpse of the bedroom area in the mirror.

The bedroom area:

On May 10, my wife, daughter and I will take up residence in 601 (San Francisco to Vancouver cruise). Yesterday, when I called Regent, my intention was to book a penthouse suite in another part of the ship. We were beginning to look at suites when my consultant exclaimed, "If you don't mind being down on six and forward, 601 just became available!" That's when I learned about 601, all 536 magical square feet of it.

I've since done a little bit of research on 601, enough to know opinions are mixed on this suite (I just noticed they're even mixed on this short thread). But, heck, Ginny and I are up for an adventure, dropping anchors and all, and will let you know how we fare. We'll probably even take our turn decorating the pole. (Hmmmm, Ginny's maiden name is Barber. . .)

Default stateroom 601

Hello Mr. Rumor,

first of all many thanks for the pictures. I really appreciate it.
We are on the cruise from Miami to San Francisco arriving May 10th, just before yours .
So I will inform you about stateroom 601.
Do you have perhaps also pictures from the balcony? Pictures are hard to get.

Hi Germancruiser32. This is as close as any of the photos get to a view of the veranda (in other words, not close at all):

I've read that the veranda is "double-sized" and big enough for a chaise lounge, which sounds good to me. I'll be looking forward to your comments on 601 once you are onboard.

Thanks for the picture...... I definitely see how the "infamous" pole in the middle can be an issue at night We could see 601's balcony when the ship was docked -- it is definitely double sized and I think it had a chaise lounge on it.

Becasuse of the curve of the bow, the balcony in 601 is set back and the roof is farther out than the deck. You rarely get any sun, except early morning or evening or sometime none, depending which direction the ship is traveling. It is a great cabin and I liked it better the space layout better than a similar sized Voyager Penthouse A/B. I think I have some photos somewhere that I can post.

Even in that cute little photo, Germancruiser32, you can't miss that pole! Seriously, I hope you can miss it--you (and Ginny and I) definitely don't want to sleepwalk into it (talk about going BUMP in the night!).

JMARINER, would definitely be interested in seeing any photos you are able to locate of the magic cabin. Glad you enjoyed your time in 601.

Regarding the cute little photo, you have to double click on it. Then it gets bigger. Another question country of enchantment, where is that?

New Mexico! All of our states have nicknames (i.e. New York-The Empire State, Florida-The Sunshine State), and The Land of Enchantment is New Mexico's. Georgia O'Keeffe fell in love with northern New Mexico on her first visit in 1929. Fifty one years later, DW and I did the same on our honeymoon. If you like big blue skies and beautiful high desert country, are interested in exploring Native American culture and love art and great food, The Land of Enchantment may just be for you.
