Default New York port

Might be too far in advance. Planning a summer 2015 cruise leaving New York if possible. We will be flying in from Los angeles and would like a few days in new york and do a cruise to Eastern Caribbean cruise.

Any ideas on cruise ships that leave that Area?

The Quantum of the Seas, RCL's newest ship, will be sailing from Bayonne in the summer of 2015. Bookings aren't yet available.

If you're at all interested, check out what's known about the ship (it's not in service yet) and plan to book as soon as bookings open for summer 2015. There's no down side to reserving a cabin if you can pony up the deposit money.

Not sure if there there will be changes by then, but at this time:
Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Gem are in NY City port. Also Carnival Splendor.

Easy port to get to.

The Queen Mary 2 does a terrific 12-day Holiday cruise to the Caribbean on December 20th every year, gorgeous ship, a true ocean liner with elegant public rooms, great food and top-notch service.

By summer of '15, there might be more and/or different options sailing out of NYC.
