Gc 5 Hour Nativeway Stinray Tour, Anyone Been?

Recommended Posts

I assume you're talking about Stingray City/Snorkel/Rum Point.

Just did it in November, and it was a blast. 100% Endorsement!!!!!

First we did the standard Stingray City sandbar thing - our in-water guide (can't remember name) was great - made sure everyone that wanted got a chance to hold a stingray, etc. Next, a short hop to the snorkel area - first our guide took us to a hole with a moray eel and got it to come out for pictures. Next, another area where he knew of a reef shark - he lured it out with food for pictures and to feel the skin. Next was free time to snorkel, nice, but not great, reef area. Then we all reboarded, menus were handed out, and we ordered lunch (included) for Rum Point, which was radioed ahead. When we arrived at Rum Point, lunch was waiting (very good), after which we had about 2 hours free time - there are beach chairs, a bar, very nice area.

We will not go back to Grand Cayman without doing this one again!

Our only complaint with Nativeway is how difficult it is to find them when you get off the tender. We have used them twice and both times had problems. Bring their phone number with you just incase you need it (like we did). Once we found them the day was awesome.

We did the Stingray & Snorkel tour with them last Jan. and it was great! Some of the ships cancelled their tours due to "rough waters", but Nativeway kept ours and the water was fine when we got out there. They stopped midway between Stingray City and the snorkeling area and one of our guides dove down and brought up some conch, which he prepared and served to those willing to try it (not me-- not a fan of sushi!!) We brought the shell home. Would absolutely recommend them! We also had some trouble finding them when we got off the tender, they were at the opposite side of the harbour. But once we were on their bus, it was great.

We did this excursion last February and it was, without a doubt, one of the best we've ever experienced. Only six of us booked that day. One of our fellow excursion mates posted a long review of this most wonderful day here on CC. Here is the link.

Highly recommend this excursion.

Enjoy!
