Freeport beaches- free vs.day pass

I will be sailing to Key West and the Bahamas the week of Feb 1st. I've done a crazy amount of research and have Key West and Nassau planned out but for some reason, Freeport is confusing the heck out of me. I know we will probably get a cab to Port Lucaya and do some shopping, but I'd also like to go to a beach. Now I'm looking at the Lucayan and Taino. I believe at the Lucayan you can pay $15/pp and use the resort ammenities or there is a free beach next to that. With the free beach, is it limited to a small area or are we free to use the beach in front of the Lucayan and just can't use the pools and whatnot? Now Taino, that's a resort as well, correct? Can you just go to Taino on your own or how does that work? Thanks in advance :)
