Baltic Discovery tips for currency?

Recommended Posts

We just used euros everywhere, except in St. Petersburg, where we took some American dollars to pay for our privately arranged 2 day tour. I think that most currencies were acceptable in all the port areas. We did find that the local toilets in the port area of Stockholm were a problem as they were only accessible with a coin of the local currency. We just went into a nearby hotel and used their loos instead!

We used euros in most places, you are fairly safe using your card most of the time, USD$ or local currency in Russia.

We went in early September and the weather was fantastic, St Petersburg was the warmest of the lot, didn't expect that.

Also the sea was the flattest, calmest we have had in about half a dozen cruises.

We sailed under the bridge between Sweden and Denmark at around midnight and it was still light outside, a bit like dusk in the UK, totally weird.

Absolutely loved this trip, enjoy
