We stayed there a number of years ago. Very nice rooms and as DF said nice soundproofing. Never knew we were in the airport. Not sure what we paid or what deals we had but I know it seemed reasonable to us.

My family and I took a day room here after our Disney cruise in June, 2014 before our early evening flight home. It was very nice. We did not eat in the hotel because of several eating choices just outside the entrance to the hotel in the airport itself. The pool area was nice. I would not hesitate to recommend it. The only downside is that it is built in a large square, so if your room is on the other side of the square from the elevators it can be a little bit of a walk.

It was about a 50 - 55 minute drive to Port Canaveral. Happy Cruising!

This is by far the most convenient place to stay, especially if you are using DCL transfers to get to the port. However, it is also one of the most pricey choices. I had a corporate code, so got a really decent price.

As noted, it is quiet. IF you get a room facing the airport, you can pick up their internet; the hotel's internet was an additional $15 per night. Don't even think of eating at the hotel restaurants--they are very pricey. The breakfast buffet was $15.99 per person--we didn't do it. The airport has a large food court, a couple of chain type restaurants (like Chili's), and one or two very nice restaurants ALL of which are less costly than the Hyatt.

The real benefit of this hotel is that if you are on DCL transportation, they will pick up your luggage in the morning and take it to Disney so that you don't have to deal with it. This is part of the service provided when you book the transfers. You will sign a list when you check in and they will give you a form to give to DCL--the list tells the Hyatt to pick up your bags and the form tells DCL to verify that they got it. This verification was started a couple years ago after one family had their bags left in their room at the Hyatt!

In addition, for a $10 fee, the Hyatt bellman will get your luggage from baggage claim and bring it to your room for you.

Whatever you do, don't pay rack rate. DCL gets a discount, but has a limited number of rooms available. Better discounts are sometimes available on line. If you have AAA, a credit card, or whatever, check to see what discount codes might be available to you.

In all honesty, if I was not using DCL transportation, I wouldn't spend the money to stay here...unless maybe coming in very late the night before the cruise. There are LOTS of hotels in the MCO area ranging from barely decent to very nice. Anything at a 2.5* or above level provides a shuttle from MCO at no additional charge and many provide breakfast.

Saving us from making a trip to baggage claim sounds very nice, but how do they identify your luggage ?

If you stay at the Hyatt Airport Northwest, one double room has enough space for 6 people; they provide a shuttle to/from the airport; free breakfast; and free Wi-Fi. You also can get a AAA discount. Our rate (4 adults; 2 teens) is $120 for one night. The hotel is very nice. They will also drive you to eateries that are less than 5 miles from the hotel.

This is my favorite hotel in the MCO area. The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I've ever had and is complimentary. There is a TGI Friday's in easy walking distance (across a "not busy" street"). Great value. They also offer a cruise package that includes round trip transportation to the terminal. This is on their web site under "specials." We paid $121 for 2 people at the hotel, breakfast, and cruise transportation, although the last time I looked, it had increased to $169 for 2.

i believe pets are allowed at Hyatt Northwest..and I cant imagine the rooms not having an order? Has anyone experienced this? Why is it significantly cheaper than Hyatt at the airport?

Hyatt PLACE and Hyatt are separate levels of hotels. Hyatts typically are 3*-4* with the huge atrium, fancy decor, etc. catering to business travel, conventions, etc. Hyatt Place is a 2.5* (some have 3* ratings) that cater more to families with complimentary breakfast, shuttle to/from airports, etc. Often they are in hotels that were purchased from other chains and remodeled (as is the case at the Hyatt Place NW). While they have a nice lobby and friendly staff, they don't have the huge chandeliers, sweeping views, etc.

I called them directly and got a corporate discount of about 50% by mentioning my employer, a Fortune 100 company. They also have a government employee discount that's about the same.

Mousesavers.com may have codes.

They are also showing up on some of the non-bid hotel sites for $129 on our next date. Not staying there, but the rate was surprisingly good.

We always stay here the night before our cruises. We joined the travel club at last minute travel and paid 139$ all in per night. We then get private transportation (they pick you up at the Motor Court which is accessible from the Hyatt elevators). We have our driver make a grocery stop so we can pick up supplies for the cruise on our way to the port. This is great if you want to carry on beverages. :)

i cant find any codes and it $171 for the night when we go. How do you join the travel club?

Good grief! Are you willing to share your date and I'll see if I can find anything....? Although this IS a normal rate. Another thing that sometimes works is to check the rate if you book it thru DCL. They only have a limited number of rooms, but it is lower than rack rate.

I have a code...but it will put you on their business floor in a king bed room. It does include their mini-breakfast buffet (that means coffee, tea, and toast!)...and then they try to upsell you to the big breakfast.

Nope, the best I found was $170 for your date. Wonder why it is so much more than our date or if it will go down as the date approaches if not full (we are September). Note--we aren't staying there this time, but I was surprised at the rate.

The $157 above includes all taxes--room + breakfast + shuttle is $139.

My code won't give me the Hyatt MCO for that night. It is either too full or blacked out.

Go to last minute travel.com.

Join their travel club for free.

Your rate, taxes included, for the night you need: 138.38$. Do you have a party of more than 4 people? If so, rate is no good.

Which hotel is this for? Hyatt MCO or Hyatt Place NW?

OP wanted Hyatt MCO, but the discussion has wandered a bit.
