Oceania Steps Up

In today's mail we received a letter from Oceania apologizing for the Noro outbreak on certain of their voyages during the winter cruise season of 2015-2016, and providing a 25% discount on any Caribbean voyage on Riviera for 2016 and 2017. Personally, I think this is a very good gesture on the part of Oceania in recognizing the negative impact that the Noro cruises had on passengers.

Thanks, Darcie. I was on the March cruise with you where we had 5 days of Noro but I didn't get a letter with that offer. I called my TA who hadn't heard anything about it. She got the 25% discount for my Feb cruise and said she is writing to the DSM to ask why they weren't notified about it. She is an O specialist.

Thanks again.

If you can get a really good deal on a Riviera Caribbean cruise from your travel agent, does that mean that you don't get the 25% off?

I hope Mr. Rodriguez is still reading this discussion and can answer this question for us. I called Oceania and asked for Mr. Rodriguez' email address and was told that it isn't publicly available.

tgg

I had a great deal on my Feb cruise - not as good as the 25% offer though so my TA cancelled that cruise and rebooked me on the 25% offer. Call your TA to see what they can do.

Does anyone know if the Riviera TA ....BCN to MIA last Nov ending in MIA on 2 Dec 2015 was included in the 25% discount offer. This was the cruise where last seasons NORO started and apart from the usual discomfort onboard we missed 2 days in Bermuda because of the NURO.

Thank you for any input.

Yes. We were on that cruise and received the offer.

My TA advises that Oceania confirm that my wife and I should have received the letter informing us that we are entitled to the 25% future Riviera Caribbean cruise discount. They apologized to my TA for missing us with a letter. I am advised that one has now been sent to us. We await and when received we intend to book a cruise in late 2017 which James R advised were covered in his recent Cruise Critic posting.

You don't need to get the letter to have your TA book the cruise with the 25% discount. I didn't get the letter but qualified so my TA booked a cruise in February 2017 for me.
