Is 1155 flight to early???

We are looking at booking an 1155 flight out of LAX after our Carnival cruise......will this be enough time to get off the ship to the airport and checked in???

The other option is to wait until a 530pm flight......which I would prefer not to with a 9 year old....

..also the disembarkation date. A weekday morning is far different from a weekend, but if it's Grand Prix weekend the port area will be a headache.

No, not really, Carnival does not give that level of sophisticated advice. They suggest a return flight be booked after 12:30 at LAX. http://www.carnival.com/cms/faq/default.aspx?faq=outboundflights#q-544915

We have cruised out of Long Beach many times. LA freeways can stop or slow down for anything.

Sometimes clear freeways and get stuck in non moving traffic in the airport itself.

LAX wants you there two hours beforehand for domestic and three hour beforehand for International. At times we have needed every minute.

If possible do self assist debark, taking everything off with you and take a taxi.

If there is traffic in LAX's horseshoe there are shortcuts they can take not available to a bus.
