For information for those leaving Port Everglades, who are planning early homeward flights from FLL post cruise.

Obviously these times CANNOT be guaranteed but thought I'd share our experience.

In Platinum disembarkation lounge by 7.30 am for departure listed as 8.15 am...independents.

Queuing to pass through immigration by 8.30 am.

Once outside, quick walk to taxi rank. $20 taxi fare (incl tip) to FLL.

Checked in on ship 24 hours before, so just bag drop to Delta by 9.30 am...even though flight was at 13.55

(had read that airlines wouldn't take bags more than 2 hrs prior to departure)

Snack food available( Small pizza approx $10 bottle soda just under $3, sandwiches, coffee also available) in departure lounge after TSA check area. (Had read no food available in departure lounge areas)

Limited seating available but as we were so early no problem.

Hope this helps someone with their planning.

Curious where you read this. At FLL virtually all food and other services are post-security in the departures (lounge?) area. It is actually MIA airport where most shops and restaurants are in the ticket concourse rather than adjacent to the gates; perhaps your source had the two airports reversed.

Why the rush to get off the ship with that later flight? I'd have had the most leisurely breakfast and relax on board before heading out to FLL.

We had not disembarked at Port Everglades to fly from FLL previously. We'd flown ex MIA and used Princess transfers.

Also did not know how long we would need to wait for a taxi, traffic conditions etc. When taking International flights, we feel safer being in the airport early.

Once we are up and ready to travel 16 hours,(including connections) we prefer to 'get going'.

You could be right, or maybe I made the mistake..read too many posts.
