Caribbean Stud Poker odds

New gamblers - BEWARE of the odds posted on Caribbean Stud poker tables.

If you have the good fortune to hit the Royal Flush (like THAT'S gonna happen!) AND you have bet the maximum allowed under the table rules, you will NOT get your full payout.

If I remember correctly, on RCI ships, the maximum bet is $500. The odds offered on a Royal Flush are something like 50/1 so $500 x 51 (you also get your stake back) = $25,500

Maximum payout permitted under the house rules for any one hand = $10000.

Therefore, you lose $15,000 of your winnings thanks to the small print. The rules may have changed since I was last aboard, but I suspect not..

A lot of places are going to this, as you point out it limits the house loss, but it also limits the player win.

The thing that had me laughing, CS is a great house game, so so ships on pay out the full jackpot if the royal is dealt in a certain suit !

Now honestly, CS is a throw away game, take $100, figure you already spent it, if you hit something you win, if not the money was already spent, it's the only sane way to look at the game.
