Halloween on Nieuw Amsterdam

Our friends who are traveling with us are excited that we will be on NA this Halloween. They are anticipating some sort of celebration on board. I said maybe on Carnival but not on HAL. I am the "Grinch" who hates all things Halloween. Someone who has cruised on Halloween please tell me I'm right.

There was nothing to note the day the two times I was sailing on Halloween.

On the Prinsendam last year, there was a costume contest/party but it could have been easily avoided (however, they did have some good prizes for the winners!)

When we were on the Nieuw Amsterdam a few years ago, there were some pumpkins and artificial witches, etc. set up at the front of the main dining room. A few decorations in the bars. There was a bar crawl that ended in the Northern Lights Club for a Halloween party. The majority of the people who did the pub crawl were dressed in costumes. It is not free.

On a couple of other ships there was a Halloween party in either the show lounge or the Crow's Nest and prizes were given out for the best costumes.

It is really up to the captain and hotel manager as to what they may have for Halloween.
