Carnival in room babysitting, yes or no? I've heard too many answers I've heard

Ok, so I went in and posted a thread on family cruising and have way to many DIFFERENT answers. Maybe I wasn't clear that we are traveling on Carnival. Our Carnival agent said he would be allowed in Camp Carnival, however reading the threads, it seems they have to be 2+ years to do it. I've called twice, and get the same answer, HELP?

Has anyone OR does anyone know if Carnival crew members DO or OFFER in room babysitting?

We are 7 adults taking our 8 cruise and 1st with our grandson 15 months old at the time of cruising. We are planning a jolly roger rum excursion through the ship, which is roughly 4+ hours long, and trying to find out if the ship offers in room babysitting as our grandson is NOT old enough to say or go to camp carnival.:(

All other days we have plans on bringing him a shore with us. This excursion does offer a child rate, but would they charge us full rate for a 15 month old?

My son-in-law does NOT drink, so there is no issue is bringing him with for this, we just thought it would be more fun just the adults on this one only.:o

Any thoughts?

Under 2 year olds will also be offered babysitting services on Sea Days in the form of a Family Play Time. During this time parents are welcome to stay with their children to play free of charge or if you choose you can leave your under 2's with Camp Carnival for the regular babysitting fee. We also offer Port Day Babysitting for your under 2 year old. The early morning port service will begin 15 minutes before the ship's arrival in port until 12pm and for late ports this will be offered during 'free play' times (see your Youth Staff when you arrive on the ship for details).

Ok, thank you very very much, I could not find any of this information when I was looking.

So in other words, Carnival was right to say under 2 is allowed in the camp carnival, just before noon and after 10pm for a fee. Got it.

THANKS!!!

This does not help us at all for the shore excursion, guess I'll have to call Carnival again and ask what is considered a 'child' age rate.:(

yes, I replied on the family board to you. Carnival does offer group babysitting for under 2, sea days noon-2pm or 1pm-3pm see schedule and port days from time of arrival until noon, if arrival is after noon until 5pm. They will adjust the times port days according to your excursion. Its $6 per hr. We used it with our DD when she was younger on sea days. It was nice to have the few hr break during the day. Otherwise under2's are not allowed in the camp for activity time.
