I'm looking for feedback on pros and cons of translate Apps such as Google Translate. Offline use would be a nice feature. Thanks!

You can load the offline language on Google Translate. I have it on my phone (online version since I have data) on my trip to Italy, Japan, Korea in the last few years. I have never actually used it once. A few times I have to use Google to look up the address in Japanese or Korean for the taxi driver but translator app won't help with that.

First option is Google Translate. its very light user friendly. Secondly you can use Tourist language learn and speak. It also works online and offline.

Not all languages are available for download to your phone.

Also, the camera translate (look at something with the camera and have it translated on the screen) does not work with downloaded languages.

All that, I travel a lot internationally, and to a lot of non-tourist destinations, I find I can get by with English, if I am patient and understand that it is MY issue that I do not speak the local language.
