Location: 5 hours from the closest cruise terminal
We were on the Empress deck forward, and didn't hear noise from above but we heard a lot of noise coming down the hallway from the atrium area. Music, laughter, conversation, and people walking by our cabin to go from the atrium to the elevators.
The ironic thing is that we "upgraded" to the Empress deck. Should've kept our lowly 6A on the Riviera which we know from previous cruises to be much quieter.
I wish I could remember our room number! We were that deck, midship balcony. The only thing we ever heard at all was the kids next door in the morning. It was a family of four and it occasional sounded like they were moving furniture in the morning. We just turned up the white noise app.
We had 2 rooms E92 and E96 which is right off the atrium and we all enjoyed the room! Heard no noise that was loud/disturbing. It was a great location and convenient to all decks!
I have decided that I want to cruise at least every year until I am unable to do so! I took my first cruise right after I turned 26 in 2012 on the Carnival Dream! Here we go!
September 1, 2012 - Carnival Dream
April 7, 2013 - Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas
June 27, 2013 - Carnival Sensation
May 1, 2014 - Carnival Sensation
June 11, 2015 - Carnival Sensation Wedding Cruise
We were on the Sensation with cabins on the Empress Deck just beyond the doors that separate the atrium (E75, E77). Great location. No noise above at all and the only foot traffic was people going to/from their cabins. Never anything excessive.
