Would it be best to pack a travel iron and will it work in cabin?

It's highly unlikey to work, my travel straighteners wouldn't get hot enough. Waste of case space. Same with hairdryers, apparently it's best to get to Reception quickly and hire one. Something to do with the American voltage I think.
