Perhaps it is me – but the name of the ship is probably the least important thing to me. I don’t care what they name it, what color it is painted, what it looks like. Some ship are boxy, some sleek, etc. These points never come into play ( for me) when selecting a cruise Ship amenities yes – design no.
Just saying.

Outstanding. We had a great Roll Call group too.
Looking forward to cruising with you someday on the "Quantum Johnee O' the Seas." Sounds like they need an Irish Pub on "O' the Seas."

I rather like the Lyric of the Seas, or the Magnificnence.
What about the Extravagance of the Seas?

We received an email from Royal Caribbean today that the Quantum of the Seas will debut in the Fall of 2014. Hope the Quantum replaces the Explorer of the Seas in New Jersey.

Hahaha that's what I keep thinking....how can you say "Boarding the Ovation tomorrow" or "Had a blast onboard the Ovation!" ?? I'm getting used to Quantum and Anthem but I cannot get over Ovation...hope it never gets used
As a sidenote what do you guys think about using past names just like Princess does? I think a "new" Sovereign class, for example, would be great since all three ships will be gone by next year. They can even add a (also "new") Empress of the Seas and what not in case they build more later

Who cares what it is called, what size it is, and where its home is. Just let me know when I can book and I am all over it.

Quantum of Solace of the Seas? The James Bond cruise ship? I think there could have been more thought put into the names of the Project Sunshine ships.
IMHO Quantum is a cool name but really doesn't work with the "of the Seas" theme. Celebrity Quantum would have been cooler. And Anthem of the Seas just doesn't roll off the tongue, it's awkward.
Norwegian Anthem, Epic of the Seas and Reflection of the Seas would have worked so well. Therefore I propose that there should be one committee in charge of naming all cruise ships, to avoid these problems.

I agree!!! "Siren of the Seas" also fits with RCI's "The Sea is Calling" marketing plan, seems like a good choice.

The word "sirens" brings to mind emergencies--that won't do.

Yes unfrotunetly they are associated with sailors trying to reach their rocky island shores due to their beautiful music and song.
My thought would be like RCI's AD the sea is calling, so does the Siren. They are beautiful, mystical beings in "history" and the ships are beautiful and many times awe inspiring, calling passangers to the open waters. Plus it just sounds better in my mind than Quantum.
I did think about the fact some people with think Siren is like an emergency light, but you have to also realize that there is, sadly, a lot of people out there who probably don't know what Quatum means.
