Magens Bay or Kon Tiki? Help us decide!

Dh and I will be on the Regal Princess in St. Thomas on 12/31, docking in Crown Bay.

We can't decide! Should we go to Magens Bay on or own? Or, have a beach day via the Kon Tiki boat ride?

We are not into snorkeling, just want to spend a little time on the beach, putting our toes in the water and relaxing.

Please give us your pros and cons. :)

Magens would be the better choice for you IMO, because if you take a taxi from the dock to Magens you control your time at the beach.

There are always taxis at Magens to take you back to the ship, and they will remind you to leave the beach before your ship boards.

Thanks for your input! :)

Don't know if it matters, but here are the ships in St. Thomas on that same day (Wed - December 31st):

Carnival Splendor -Havenshight

Norwegian Getaway - Havensight

Regal Princess - Crown Bay

Westerdam - Crown Bay

Magen's will probably be crowded with 4 ships in port, as will be many of the others including Trunk Bay on St. John. I agree with the previous post, try to find a less touristy beach that will be a little more relaxing. Our favorite STT beaches are Sapphire and Lindqvist/Smith Bay, but they will somewhat crowded too. Magen's is pretty, but definitely not in our top 5 in the USVI.

We have never done the Kon Tiki excursion, so I really can not comment on it.
