I belive you have 2 years in which to use a future cruise credit?
My DH has a future cruise credit (which I'm going to transfer to me) he cancelled out of our upcoming cruise in Jan 2012. So do we have to sail by 1/2014 or just have another cruise booked on or before 1/2014 and sail sometime in 2014? My TA is telling me we have to have something booked that has a sale date on or before 1/2014. TA said we can not use it after 1/2014. |

What kind of future cruise credit.. is it like a 25% off for missing ports?? It could be 1 or 2 years.
Are you saying you bought a FCC? Did you cancel a cruise and this is a credit held in your husbands name that you actually paid for?

if you purchased a future cruise certificate (FCC), I'm sure firefly and others can confirm that they are not transferrable but they are refundable if you don't use them.

If your husband cancelled a cruise .... the 2 years of the credit STARTS the day he cancelled, so many wait to cancel to move the 2 years start date back. Unless he cancelled exactly the last day of last January .. the above would not be true. I would just guess your TA is giving you a bad date to use by... since its June now and you are just asking about it now.

Upcoming cruise July 14. When we booked April 2011 DH was included, he then cancelled Jan 2012. I can prove that I paid his deposit (ES) so they will transfer his future cruise credit to me.
TA said I have to cruise on or before Jan 2014 to use the credit. I was double checking here on the boards to see if maybe if possible I book and pay by Jan 2014, but cruise later in 2014, is this possible. Just looking for more input. |

I don't know about the exact dates--when I cancelled my ex out of a cruise we had booked ES, they didn't give me dates by which I had to book and sail. But, I cancelled him in Sept or October 2010 and booked a cruise in Feb 2012--the sail date is in June 2013, almost three years after I cancelled his booking.
