The timing is somewhat amusing. The old 3 day pass was $35 so there goes another $27 of my dollars. (3 of us) the pass is still a good value though IMO. Probably not great if you live there however.

Bermuda is an expensive place, and the transportation pass always used to be considered a good bargain for visitors. But this is the second price increase in 2 years. In early 2013 the prices for the 1-, 2-, and 3-day passes were 60% cheaper ($12, $20, $28, respectively)!
History of transport fare revisions in Bermuda

1) Effective April 1, 2013 the fares for both bus and ferry have increased. Fares for 1-7 day passes increased by 25%. For example the 1-day adult fare increased from $12 to $15 and 7-day from $45 to $56. This is the first hike since 2004. However the fares for the monthly and quarterly passes have remained the same as before. This ensures that the locals who usually buy monthly and quarterly passes are least effected by this change.

2) Fare increase has taken place again effective April 1, 2015. Pass fares have changed quite a bit (1day from $15 to $19, 2day from $25 to $31.50, 3day pass from $35 to $44, 4day from $44 to $48.50 and 7day from $56 to $62). Cost of carrying motor bike in a ferry has been changed from $4 to $4.50. The cash fare for both bus & ferry for all zone (14-zone) ride has been increased from $4.50 to $5.00, and for 3-zone from $3.00 to $3.50. 3-Zone Token fare has also increased from $2.50 to $2.75. Fare for a booklet of 3-Zone tickets changed from $20 to $25, while that of All-zone changed from $30 to $37.50. This is another fare increase in two years. (source: Bermuda Attractions)

The transportation is still complimentary. This is only a "convenience fee" you pay to board the buses, ferrys in order to use the complimentary transportation.

If the ferry was run by NCL, they would charge a convenience fee to take the gangway to the ferry or else make people "swim" for it.

I think a lot of people jump on the three day Bermuda transport passes without giving a lot of thought to what they are actually going to do.

The current adult pass is $44.00. By buying tokens, you can do the following on your three days in Bermuda: Ride the ferry six times and ride the bus 5-7 times depending on the number of zones. That adds up to the same $44.00.

Just saying, you may want to think about your travel plans while there and save some money.
