My Upgrade

As a Captain's Club member, apparently I'm entitled to an upgrade.
When do they let you know your new cabin number? Maybe I don't like the new cabin. What then?

Usually when you book you request say a cat 6, they charge you for a cat 7 and that is the upgrade. It's just a price thing, not an actual cabin change.

Not sure I understand. Hubby and I are in a suite but, as loving caring parents do, have put our teenage kids in the lowest possible inside category cabin available. They're hoping for a little upgrade perhaps to a higher deck. "Subject to availability" (of course, the magic words) do you think that is poss?

If you are in a suite, the Captain's Club upgrade does not apply. It is simply a one-category upgrade inside to inside or outside to outside. Balcony cabins, "family cabins" and suites are not included.

tuggers example is a good illustration. You either book an inside at whatever level and they move you up one category at time of booking, or you pay for one level less. If you book the highest inside (or outside), there won't be an upgrade unless you hit the upgrade fairy bingo jackpot.

I don't think the kids' cabin will qualify unless celebrity thinks a C Club member is staying in the room. I think they'll have to rely on pure luck. If you were booking for yourself in a category below any of the balcony cabins, you should be told about the upgrade at time of booking, if you've identified yourself as a Club member and provided your number.
