Has anyone cruised on Fantasy lately?

We sailed on her in November 2016 short after she began cruising out of Mobile. We had a great time. The ship's crew were friendly and hard working. The food and entertainment were good. Our only complaint was that the shore side staff were not quite trained and things took a little to long to board. One example was that as you entered they would not accept our passports as ID and they made us dig our drivers license out for ID. Of course, when we went to the actual screening, we had to show the passports. Also, everybody seem to have an 11:00 boarding time. I hope they have these problems ironed out now and things are running a little quicker.

I hope you will read some of the other post related to the Fantasy and enjoy your cruise.

Thanks for the info on Fantasy, I am booked on this ship in November 2017. I had questions also about photo ID. We were told that you could use your birth certificate along with a photo ID. Also has anyone used the "faster to the fun" on this ship? And is it really faster?

Thank you, Purvis!

We are also looking at a November booking. Yes, you can use your photo ID and birth certificate and I've used FTTF on other cruises and it was nice being able to go right to the room and get it organized before joining the fun. :)

We may be back on the Fantasy in November. We like doing Thanksgiving cruises. The Fantasy is a good ship, I hope you enjoy as much as we have. It was actually our first Carnival sailing many years ago.

Recently did B2B, and had a blast! Mikey, the CD, is just delightful - keeps public announcements to a minimum. Maitre'd, 007, is also excellent - we think he must be twins, everywhere at once. Our cabin was comfortable, cabin temp excellent, staff very friendly. We had a ball - no complaints.

I sailed on her this past week and had a great trip. I also sailed on her in November 2016. Yes she is old, but in great shape. The cruise director is fantastic. He hosts some really fun parties in the atrium. The staff was great and very accommodating.

Does the Fantasy have poolside Theatre screen and what dining options are available on the Fantasy?

No Seaside Theater. Food choices are Lido Buffet, Main Dining Room (2), Pizza, Deli, Taste Bar, Bistro coffee shop. I believe that's all. I know there is no Steakhouse.

Keep in mind that the Fantasy is the oldest and smallest ship in the Carnival fleet. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just not going to have all of the bells and whistles or the size of the other ships. So when you see all of the sky courses, movie theaters, specialty restaurants, etc. on pictures of the other ships, you're not going to get that with the Fantasy.

Fantasy has a lot of the 2.0 upgrades. Guys, BI etc.

We have always enjoyed the Fantasy! Any day on a cruise ship is better than a day at work! Yes if you book you should know that she is an old ship, she's not got all the bells and whistles the others do....but barring that you can still have a good time. It all depends upon your outlook. The trip depends upon you. Good luck!

My daughter and I were on the Christmas 2016 cruise. We had been on the Dream x2, Liberty once, and Freedom of the Seas x3.

We were happily surprised at how much fun we had on Fantasy!! Think of it as cozy. Mikey made it so lively and fun, I've never laughed so much on a cruise! It didn't look tired or old to us, and had the best crew we've ever had!

We have been on the Dream several times and on the Elation a couple times too and between the two, the Elation was my favorite. I am a little disappointed there is no dive in movies, but I'll get over that.

:)

We were on the same cruise and had a great time. Mikey was alot of fun, and actually got me in a "dance off" on the atrium bar stage. lol

The ship itself is their oldest, but it was in great shape as it has had a recent drydock that added many of the 2.0 stuff. It has waterworks, Guys, BI, ect. It does not have Alchemy Bar or a steakhouse.

Also, the port of mobile is really easy to get in and out of.

We cruised on her last month (April 13 - April 17). I was our first cruise so we really didn't know what to expect. We stayed the night about 5 minutes from the terminal at the Quality Inn Downtown in Mobile. They had a park and stay package for $139 which included 1 nights stay, parking for our car, and shuttle service to an from the terminal. Rooms were nice and the shuttle aspect was super easy. We had a good time on the Fantasy. Like others mentioned it is a older ship, but it had all the things we wanted (food, drink, comedy, karaoke, casino, hot tub). There was an issue with the ships propulsion system and we unable to cruise to Cozumel as planned, however they fixed the issue during the cruise and we were able to port in Key West, Florida which was great. Carnival was very accommodating because of the issue and gave everyone onboard a 50% refund, on-board credit, and 50% discount on a future cruise. Overall a great first cruise experience.

We did capture video of the trip if you want to check it out.

Happy to answer any questions. Enjoy your cruise.

Tony
