One Night in Galveston

Recommended Posts

The main purpose of this thread is to thank SSB, Galveston Cruiser, and any others who offer helpful info about Galveston on CC. We stayed one night pre-cruise at the Hotel Galvez and found Galveston to be a charming place.

For dinner we chose Millers, mainly because it was easy walking distance from our hotel. Good food, good service, reasonable prices with a Gulf view. We had breakfast at the Galvez. At first I thought it was overpriced ($15 for a buffet), but the buffet was quite nice, made-to-order omelets, everything else a breakfast buffet could offer, coffee & juice included. Plus, kids were free, so for us and our 4 yr old DGD it worked out about the same as eating somewhere else.

It was a bit cool and breezy, so that was pretty much the extent of what we saw except for a short walk from the hotel in each direction. Galvez does offer a free shuttle but we didn't use it.

Anyways, thanks again to those who helped provide info on here. It's one of the reasons I love CC.:)
