It's 232 miles from Anchorage to Homer and about 180 from Seward to Homer. Figure on 3-4 hours from Seward and about 5 from Anchorage. Got to remember to allow for any road construction delays plus stops to get out and stretch.

Also add to the estimates that are accurate above, sightseeing. Plenty of potential stops along the way. Don't plan your transit time so tightly as to not allow some time for a look along the way.
Happy Alaska travels

Last week, I drove ANC/Homer twice, Soldotna/Seward, Homer/Anc twice and Seward/Homer.

ANC/Homer on EARLY Sunday morning was the fastest-3 hour, 47 minutes-no stopping for anything. Soldotna/Seward (which is really only about 90 miles) took over 2.5 hours. Lots of traffic, road construction. Homer to Anchorgage on Saturday afternoon, with a stop in Girdwood for ice cream, 5 hours 12 minutes. The traffic from Homer was horrendous-camper after camper, fisherman after fisherman, and around the Russian River (South of Cooper Landing), they were parked three deep on the road and were sticking out the driveway at one of the campgrounds. The cops were there with a wrecker and traffic was at a standstill for over 45 minutes.

Allow PLENTY of time.
