Luggage transfers

I just want to confirm Oceania will transfer our luggage to the ship even if we are not using their airport to port transfers? We are flying with their arrangements but chose to opt out of the ground transportation due to the exorbitant price. I think I read somewhere that we won't need to worry about our luggage but want to confirm.

It seems to me that on the few occasions when we used their air, we did not use their transfers (well, we've never used their transfers) -- but we were responsible for our own luggage retrieval.

I would double check on that if I were you!

We have used Oceania Air without transport to the ship on three occasions. In each case, we have had to look after getting our luggage from the airport to the ship.

Even if you were taking the transfer you still have to retrieve your own luggage from the carousel. If you are not taking their transfer (and you shouldn't) you take it with you to your preferred method of transport.

Never heard of luggage transfer if you are not transferring with your luggage also. Once you are on the ship and your luggage still on the carousel at the airport you have aroblem.

Agree with everyone, get your luggage at the airport. Even if you used "O" tranfers you'd want to make sure it's at the airport. But if you take your own air, you'll have to get it to the ship yourself.

With very few exceptions, a prudent rule of travel is that your luggage should always move on the same transportation as you do...very few exceptions! Separate transport can lead to misdirected, delayed and lost luggage, don't allow it if at all possible.
