SB Kayak excursion in Saguenay

One of the excursions offered in Saguenay is the kayak which I want to do but DW is a little nervous about it. Has anyone done this excursion who could share any info?

I contacted a private operator in Saguenay, and he said that conditions are very easy to manage: no strong currents or seriously rough water, and he was quite happy to let us hire and go out on our own, as fairly experienced Kayakers. He also said that the water is "not that cold"...although, as a spoiled Australian, I took that with a grain of salt. I imagine that the escorted trips will be ultra safe, using craft designed for novices, and well supervised. We will probably go with a Seabourn Kayak trip in Greenland I think, just for something different.

Thanks for the info. We don't kayak in Aus but have when in Hawaii and Fiji. But these kayaks look a little more intimidating than the ones we have used.

We didn't do the kayak last year, is that one of the new Seabourn options? We did the Seaplane - not an option from the ship and it was great, I highly recommend it, but rent the whole plane for yourselves since it is small and you would not want to be stuck in the middle seat. You can likely do both since the Air Saguenay operation is based on demand and if you take the whole plane you can reserve a time after the kayak.

Lucky You...Hawaii and Fiji would be wonderful! It will be nice to have fellow Australians on the ship, although it seems there are more and more of us cruising with Seabourn these days....
