Quick Review:

Six of us left out of NYC on JetBlue from JFK without any delays the same day as the cruise. We landed, grabbed a cab and went straight to the ship which just came from a transatlantic RP cruise. The two cruises before ours had Noro outbreaks which meant AoS needed a deep cleaning. The Coast Guard also had to do its inspection, being that it just made its way stateside. This usually means all restaurants and bars are to be closed until they get a clean bill of health. We expected to wait on long lines and luckily enough, we were on the ship within 25 minutes drinking our first tropical drinks at the Schooner Bar.

Also, our luggage was at the room within a matter of two hours or so. Of all the cruises I have ever been on, (not many - 8 including this one) this was the absolute quickest I have ever gotten my luggage.

My girlfriend and I stayed on the ship while the four others got off and walked around San Juan. We went for lunch in the Windjammer, which I was a little underwhelmed with due to the fact that it was overcrowded because not many people knew Cafe Promenade was also open for lunch. The Windjammer was packed and the crew did their best in trying to keep everything as neat as possible.

They came back and we all went to dinner at Giovanni's Table. We decided on ordering LOTS of food (see pictures above). It was all delicious. Went for drinks afterwards in the VCL, and since I've been on Adventure twice before - almost ten years ago - gave everyone a quick tour of the ship.

The weather was great the first day, mid-80s and no rain. Day one was hectic and we all fell asleep by midnight in our hump balconies (felt like throin' that in there :D).

This usually means all restaurants and bars are to be closed until they get a clean bill of health. We expected to wait on long lines and luckily enough, we were on the ship within 25 minutes drinking our first tropical drinks at the Schooner Bar.

 

Also, our luggage was at the room within a matter of two hours or so. Of all the cruises I have ever been on, (not many - 8 including this one) this was the absolute quickest I have ever gotten my luggage.

 

My girlfriend and I stayed on the ship while the four others got off and walked around San Juan. We went for lunch in the Windjammer, which I was a little underwhelmed with due to the fact that it was overcrowded because not many people knew Cafe Promenade was also open for lunch. The Windjammer was packed and the crew did their best in trying to keep everything as neat as possible.

 

They came back and we all went to dinner at Giovanni's Table. We decided on ordering LOTS of food (see pictures above). It was all delicious. Went for drinks afterwards in the VCL, and since I've been on Adventure twice before - almost ten years ago - gave everyone a quick tour of the ship.

 

The weather was great the first day, mid-80s and no rain. Day one was hectic and we all fell asleep by midnight in our hump balconies (felt like throin' that in there :D).
