Xmas/New Year attire

Hi, on a Xmas/New Years cruise are Xmas Eve/New Years Eve formal nights, if not what is the attire. Also what is the Xmas Day/ New Years Day dinner attire.

same suggested attire as normal. they may or may not 'move' the formal night to the two Eves if they would not have fallen on those nights anyway.

Well we're going formal on New Year's eve REGARDLESS of the dress code!

Both days are to each of us different and looked upon in different ways. We are twisted more to the traditional outlook, and have dressed in that style.

We've only been on a New Years cruise on the Equinox. Although the Eve wasn't officially designated as a ship's formal night, majority of passengers were dressed formally. New Years Day was smart casual.

You will see so many different attire.

We were on the Eclipse NY cruise last year. It was our first Caribbean cruise and, from what I have read on these boards, I had assumed that it would be much less formal than on the other cruises we have been on.

It actually proved to be the most formal cruise of those we have taken. I am not just talking about the formal nights [of which NYE was one] but every evening when a cocktail dress and lounge suit were not out of place. In fact our 40th wedding anniversary was the second night of the cruise. We dressed formally [long gown and tux], visited the shops before dinner and attracted no attention at all!

I am sure that there were people who dressed down [we did actually meet a man in just swim-trunks as we got into the elevators to go down for dinner on NYE:eek:] for the whole cruise but they did not hang out much in the bars we frequented.
