Vila and Luganville are both docking ports so you should have no problem getting on and off. Luganville township is walking distance from the wharf. There are vans and taxis for hire but you could have a problem locating one that will take the electric wheelchair. See this link for a CC thread about what to do in Luganville.

The wharf at Vila is about 2 k from the town. IMO not walkable especially in tropical weather and on the irregular roads and footpaths along the route. Also the traffic is heavy unlike Luganville, where we could scoot onto the raodway if necessary due to the kerbing. There are vans outside the wharf gates for hire. We have not had a probem on several visits fidnig one to take us and the scooter but I have not seen a van fitted to rake an electric wheelchair. You could try the address below.

"DISABLED FACILITIES
Unfortunately the disabled facilities in Vanuatu are not up with many parts of the world although wheelchair access is fine in the major resorts. The Vanuatu Society for the Disabled may be able to assist. Contact PO Box 373 Port Vila, Ph: 22321, Fax: 27633. "

The only pacific port we have visited with a wheelchair friendly taxi is in Noumea. We picked it up from the rank but they do have a web site and you may be able to book ahead if you are also visiting Noumea.

I hope everything works out for your cruise.
