We have done Disney Dream and many Carnival cruises. Disney was nice, but the price difference (more than 2 times as much) we didn't think we got that much more value from Disney.
Pros for Disney: Great entertainment shows - nearly Broadway quality. Terrific adult district with cool bars - especially the Skyline. Cons for Disney: Terrible food - even on simple dishes like a caesar salad which had a southwestern dressing. ![]() Inconsistent service at dinner - my wife could never get the right soup delivered (they kept on bringing the wrong one).

I am platinum on Carnival. In October I went on the Disney Magic. It was a wonderful cruise. However, Carnival is still my favorite. If you have young kids, the characters and princess things are really great.
I thought the food was the same on both. I expected the Disney ship to be much more exciting, but it was average. Did I have a good time? Absolutely. However, I'll stick with Carnival for the most part. |

I loved my three Disney cruises and I have one booked for Nov. 13.
I haven't done Carnival yet - but am going next month. I found I could get an extended AFT balcony for much less than an inside on Disney's Fantasy. I know it's not going to be the same. But you know what - I think I shall just appreciate both for what they each have. Last edited by thephantomsgirl; December 30th, 2012 at 07:35 PM. |

[quote=Tapi;36481034]Just like staying at the Grand Floridian will provide a much different experience than staying at the All-Star Resorts, various cruise lines will provide a vastly different experience as well.
AS you can tell by my name, Im also a HUGE fan of Disney. I totally agree with poster I am quoting. Its exactly like staying at the GF vs AS Resorts. Even down the the dining plan that comes at each resort during free dining.... Counter (Quick) service vs. table service. |
