Just off the Dream!

Recommended Posts

They had some kind of fight at 3 am in the hallway on deck 2...right outside my cabin. I don't know what happened for sure but "someone hit his sister in the club, and they didn't even ask him". I saw security questioning them in one of their rooms on the way to get off in Costa Maya. When I got back, there they were with their luggage on the pier.

I just heard about this today, from my friend whose travel agent neice was on the ship.

Supposedly there were gangs on the ship and several(I heard 8) people were literally "mugged" and injured by what was described as gangs.

I also heard that lots of kids under 18 were at the adult comedy show...without any adult supervision...that it was just bedlem on the ship.

Oh Please. I guess the bloods and the crips are running out of territory.

"Welcome passengers, if you're in an even numbered room you're in the bloods gang, and if you're in an odd numbered room your in the crips! Let's see which gang has the hairiest chest!"

It is good to know that Carnival did not put up with this mess. I'm so glad to hear that they put them off. CCL had to set anexample, letting people know that Carnival will not put up with it. Now, let them start fighting in Costa Maya. It won't be pretty, not in those jails. If they think they will lay back and look at TV in an air conditioned jail, they will have another think coming. So, I say, "Go for it, and do your fighting there."

Cruiser just have to remember to report anything you see that is the start of trouble. That is the only way that authorities can find out. What a nightmare. I'm sure there will be more to tell about this cruise. How scarey for the children and families onboard. Hopefully, everything went smooth after they were removed, and everyone was able to enjoy the cruise they paid for.

Good for Carnival! Let those people "disturb the peace" in a Mexican jail! Serves 'em right. Hope they have a good lawyer! I hope the jails are not like they are on some islands . When we took a tour we were once told that if you were put in jail there, the jails don't supply food. The inmate's family has to send food, or the inmate doesn't eat. Sounded a bit "fishy" to me, but they said that is why the crime rate is lowon that island! (don't remember which one) Either way, jail food will be some difference from cruise food!

Carnival has worked hard to get past their "Party"Ship" reputation that they had in the past. However I do feel that Carnival is slipping backward. While RCCL and NCL are attempting to be more innovative in respect to cruising, Carnival is starting to develop a reputation as the the cruise line with the lowest prices, the most smuggling of alcohol and the most disruptive behavior.

We have been very loyal (Platinum Level) Carnival cruisers. But out next cruise will be on Celebrity. I feel that

Can't wait to hear more. Sounds like a good job by Carnival.

Carnival has never been slow to get rid of disruptive influences on board. A few years back Massimo Marino, then Master of the Conquest, booted a lawyer who had started a bit of an insurrection because they missed MoBay and he wanted the price of the cruise back. Massimo put him and his family off the ship in Grand Cayman...

By the way... folks wondered if Carnival stood behind Capt. Marino's decision... I guess so... he's Master of the Dream at this moment...

we were on this cruise. from our friends who witnessed this in the dance club, it was caused by a song. one "group" (i don't believe they were gangs as stated earlier) started trouble with another group (both from the NY area). this quickly got out of control and some people spilled into the art gallery. yes, many pictures were damaged as well as flatscreens in the dance club. a guy was knocked out and needed medical assistance...lots of blood. it moved down to our deck (deck 2) as one group looked for the other group. carnival tried to control the problem, but at the time seemed to be short on security according to the witnesses. the people AND thier families were removed in costa maya and one man was escorted off by fbi in port canaveral. after the troublemakers were taken care of, there seemed to be a stronger security presence, as well as many ship officers walking around during the night. i believe carnival made a strong statement and for the remainder of our cruise there were no problems. GOOD JOB CARNIVAL!!! we had a GREAT time regardless of what happened.

That would be interesting... the walk of shame, caught on film.

Any ideas on how that works...does Carnival toss the whole party off, even those not directly involved? If so, you'd be catching me on film beating the he!! out of whoever it was that disrupted my cruise over the head with a large and heavy object. If not, whoever the moron was that was with me that was getting tossed off the ship would see me waving from the railing with DOD in hand.

If it were teenagers...the parents should be kicked off too...because they are irresponsible.
