Default Category X Cabin - Balcony Guarantee

Good Morning

I have just come off the phone with RCI and we have decided to upgrade from an inside stateroom to a category x cabin (for only £50each for 14nts, which I thought was a steal!), cat x is basically a guaranteed balcony, however you do not get to choose your specific room number (to do this they wanted £300 each). I was curious if anybody else has booked one of these cabins, and when you were informed of your cabin number?

Many thanks

I've booked a lot of these and allocation can happen at any time :-)

We've just done this on our Liberty transatlantic in 4 weeks

We also booked the same as ticktoneer, a balcony guarantee on the Liberty TA 4/8. We were assigned our cabin within a few days, a D3 on deck 6. We called RC immediately to switch cabins staying in the same category but a bit closer to the stairs and elevators. We're very pleased with the outcome.

We are on the same cruise in July on Independence and have also booked a balcony guarantee. It was such a good price we couldn't resist. I have no worries about where the room will be.....after cruising in both inside and balcony cabins I would always try and have a balcony regardless of where it was!

Have you joined our roll call?

If cruise is booked with RCI UK they wont let you change your allocated room regardless of whether you stay in the same category.......

Royal Caribbean International - ergo all guests, regardless of country, should be treated equally. I'm sorry they won't let you switch.

My upcoming cruise was booked as a Balcony Guarantee. They gave me a Cabin Number when we made the Final Payment. I noticed it on the Payment Confirmation.

Exactly! No I haven't as of yet but will certainly look into doing so have you been allocated your room yet? As VA Beach mentioned it may be allocated upon final payment, which I believe is due around the middle of may.

We had a W gty (JS) on our last Indy cruise and received our room number a couple of weeks after final payment date. I suspect the majority happen this way because more rooms become available once US room holdings are released.

I know I would certainly like to have access to some of the promotions and protection policies the UK gets...

Fact is, every booking office has their own rules based - in part - on local consumer laws and customs.

The one time we did a GTY room we didn't get our cabin until 3 days before sail away. They can assign rooms at any time.
