Amatique Bay Resort - recent experience anyone?

I've found some old reports re: Amatique Bay Resort; wondering if anyone has more recent experience with this excursion. We'll be on the NCL Sun in early February. I'm having a difficult time finding something that will work with my younger kids (ages 12, 9 and 4).

 

We will also be in Belize City and I've heard the beaches (e.g. Bannister Island) are better there. Would love to hear others experience. Thinking the Mayan Ruins would work in Belize...but we don't want to miss a great beach, either.
