Getting from Red Hook back to port

Can I get from RedHook back to Havensight by open air taxi or private car taxi? I really do not like to be stuffed into a 15 passenger van with lots of people and hot weather. Any help here? Thanks!

There is a yellow cab that is a regular passenger car. Not sure how you can contact him, though. You can't miss his car on the road.

How about open air safari back? Is that an option?

Yes, but you probably have to walk out of the ferry terminal to the main road. An open air vehicle will stop for you. It could be a $2 safari that gets you close to the ships, but not directly to the dock, or it could be a regular open air safari that will take you directly back to the ship for more than $2.

How far is it to the main road? Is catching on open air taxi something we can count on? Or is it hit or miss?

If you're docking at WICO (Havensight) there are people who will direct you to where the taxis are. It's not a far walk; just beyond the stores that are perpendicular to the dock. There are smaller taxis like a Rav4, and larger vans that they will try to fill.

I don't recall where I saw the open-air ones; I thought those were mostly tours though since they were bringing full loads of passengers back to the ship last week.

The walk to the main road is about the equivalent of 2 city blocks. Open air taxis are very frequent all day.
