Ditto on the food tour. Did that last time we were there...wasn't thrilled when we scheduled but everyone else wanted to do it. Ended up being one of the highlights of our trip and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Tip: save room for the last stop, and especially for dessert[emoji4]

Here is another happy cruiser who did the food tour. All the food was wonderful. Ditto about saving room for the last stop, including the dessert. Warning: if you are troubled by really spicy foods, listen carefully what to avoid when tasting. There are some seriously spicy hot sauces in Grand Cayman. The cultural places she showed us were great and interesting. We probably would not have found them on our own without a lot of research ahead of time.

The meeting place was easy to find. It was no more than a 10 minute walk from the tender pier. The walk between places was flat and well paced.

we went to the site. We'll be in Grand Cayman on November 3. They aren't doing an tours that week. I guess they are taking a vacation then. Do you think it's worth calling them directly?

Or any other suggestions? This was a great one!

While I don't know if it would be worth calling directly, what is the worst they can tell you?;) At least she (the owner) will know people are interested enough in her tour to call and inquire. Perhaps you can look at the list of places she takes you and try a few of them out on your own. A friend will be on Grand Cayman and will have lunch at the last stop after a ship excursion. Whatever you decide, Good luck.

The bare bones opposite is: simply catch a bus headed to West End, and get off at Foster's Food Fair. Go to the hot table in this supermarket -- goat stew, ox tail soup, you name it. Oh, the best part? Take your groceries and walk, like, a hundred yards to Cemetery Beach. Your food, their food, a lightly patronized beach (with the cache of eating on the cemetery wall). Easy transport.

Is Foster's food fair the same place the food tour goes to?

Foster's is a supermarket chain in Grand Cayman.

The best location is the one next to the Ritz Carlton in Seven Mile Beach off West Bay Road.

Their hot deli section has delicious offerings and if you come early before the lunch crowd, they sell yummy Jamaican patties in the deli area.
