Azamara Cabins Thread

2024 UPDATE:  After being stuck for several years [thanks, Covid!], @LoonBoarder has graciously created a new spreadsheet in Google Sheets and promised to keep it up to date.  [Thanks so much!]

Azamara Staterooms Spreadsheet

[Here is a link to @mchell810's June 2021 updated version:

Cabin%20Reviews%202021.pdf

[And here is a link to @uktog's original version up to 19 Mar 2019:

In the meantime, please continue to follow @uktog's helpful instructions on how to report cabin information in a consistent manner:

On the Celebrity board, there is a very useful spreadsheet kept up to date by one of the cruisers where others can search for information on a cabin. Here on Azamara, we have to try and search and trawl for information and I am offering to create and maintain with say forthnightly updates a similar spreadsheet.

For it to work, everyone has to post information in a consistent way and also only use the thread to post information, not to engage in debate (pop over to the Celebrity board if you want to see more on how it works)

For Azamara, I would suggest the information should be

Cabin Number

Ship

Month/Year sailed

Would you choose this room again Y/N

Is noise an issue Y/N

Balcony size Normal/Larger/Smaller

Any other comments (keeping these succinct so the spreadsheet does not grow too much)

How do others feel about this - if you think we do not need it here, please say, I will not be offended!!!!

I'm surprised at the lack of interest in your offer, as people frequently ask advice about which cabin to choose.

I think it's a great idea.

We were last on board Quest in 2011. Is that too early for your list?

Cheers,

Sue

Cabin Number - 8063

Ship - Quest

Month/Year sailed - January 2013

Would you choose this room again Y/N -Y

Is noise an issue Y/N - slight noise in AM from pool deck, but hardly noticeable

Balcony size Normal/Larger/Smaller - suite size so larger then standard

Any other comments - the curtains and rug in this suite need replacing and were not done in the recent dry-dock - bathroom has some cracked tiles

Cabin Number - 8037

Ship - Quest

Month/Year sailed - January 2013

Would you choose this room again Y/N - Y

Is noise an issue Y/N - N

Balcony size Normal/Larger/Smaller - Standard balcony

Any other comments - the room is quiet and pleasant, a standard Azamara balcony room. We enjoyed the darker woods in the room.

Call them what you like. They will always be CABINS to me.

Just as we are Passengers & not Guests

Anywhere you sleep on a ship is nautically known as The Mess and where you eat The Mess Hall, good old UK Navy lingo :)

I like cabins because that is what they are ;)

Cabin # 6019

Quest

November 2011

Choose Again? Y

Noise Issue? Y Occasionally, because it's above the theatre.

Balcony? Normal

Although there were sometimes sounds from the theatre, it was not a major problem even for my wife who is a light sleeper.

Cabin # 8063

Journey

August 2012

Choose Again? N

Noise Issue? Y several nights late, large dish washing station for Windows directly above

Balcony? Normal for club continent suite

Would love info on quest 8064, hoping to avoid the dish station this August, but loved the N2.

GREAT idea for a sticky, btw, love Library Lady's on Celebrity's board.

Would you choose this room again Y/N Most definitely

Cabin Number: 6036

Ship: Quest

Month/Year sailed: August 2010

Would you choose this room again: Yes

Is noise an issue: Only during tendering operations

Balcony size: None, Obstructed Oceanview

Any other comments: While technically Obstructed Oceanview, mostly unobstructed view. Careful, though, if sleeping/walking around in raw with curtains open whilst in port - occasionally crew members will be checking the lifeboats - eek!

Cabin Number: 6056

Shp: Quest

Month/Year: March 2011

Would you choose this room again: Y, but see comment.

Is noise an issue: No, despite being very near aft elevators.

Balcony size: about one third larger than normal verandah cabins

Any other comments: This was a disabled access verandah cabin. It was about one third larger than usual verandah cabins, had a door that swung open when the key card was inserted, low hanging racks, wheel-in shower and very importantly a higher than usual toilet. It was booked because my partner was awaiting knee surgery and had very limited mobility.

Thanks everyone, I will make and upload the first spreadsheet after the weekend

A wonderful suggestion uktog. I sailed on the Quest about a year and half ago and am sailing again on her in three weeks. Will report both cabin experiences after our trip. I'm happy to say that our past cruise on Azamara is the reason we booked it again and included some friends. Can't say enough good things about the entire experience.

Managed to save some money on our forthcoming cruise by downgrading from a V1 to V2. Our allocated cabins are 7072 and 7074 which I can see are near though not directly opposite the laundry room. To be honest I didnt even look for the laundry last year on our 10 day cruise and this one is a 7 day cruise so I hope it wont be too busy.

Is this a big problem, bearing in mind I have made a considerable saving.

Last year we were

Cabin No 4049

Thanks to everyone who has given information for this - any suggestions most welcome, and Andy in time, if you think this is of value, can we have a sticky.

For other cruisers, please post below any updates on the rooms you stay in onboard. It might be better though if people with queries about rooms do not add them here, if we can keep this just to a giving of information thread
