Hi Matthew. We are currently working with the manufacturers and shore support to identify and rectify an issue with the starboard propulsion motor on Ventura. We can assure everyone that power and services on the ship are unaffected. We’ll keep everyone updated with any further developments.

Reading between the lines, if the starboard motor is not working, this means only one propeller instead of two, hence the slower speed. All the diesel generators should be working so there should be plenty of power on board, in fact less will be required as they are only driving one propeller.

Ponta Delgada is a shorter route back to Southampton. The P&O tracking chart shows speed of 15knots. Ventura is due back in Southampton on 22 March. They may struggle to meet that but will probably make the Ponta Delgada visit a half day or miss it all together.
